What are roster limits?

Roster limits are the maximum number of athletes a participating school may have on each team under the House settlement, replacing the NCAA's old scholarship limits so every athlete on a roster may receive a scholarship.

Examples: football 105 (was 85 scholarships), men's basketball 15 (was 13), women's basketball 15, baseball 34 (was 11.7) and softball 25 (was 12). Athletes who received athletics aid or settlement payments must be on the submitted roster for that academic year. Athletes cut in anticipation of the limits could be named designated student-athletes and do not count.
