NIL Go Threshold Checker

NIL Go requires student-athletes to disclose any NIL deal worth $600 or more. This tool tells you whether a given deal value trips that threshold and what you need to do next.

Background

  • NIL Go is the College Sports Commission's reporting platform for NCAA Division I athletes.
  • $600 is NIL Go's reporting threshold, not the IRS one: for payments made in 2026 a payer files a Form 1099-NEC at $2,000, and NIL income is taxable either way.
  • State HS NIL rules vary — some states have lower thresholds. Use the State Rule Lookup for HS context.
  • Cumulative value with the same brand within a year aggregates — a series of $400 deals can still trip the threshold.

Want this baked into your athlete portal?

NIL Innovations's Compliance Center auto-checks every deal against NIL Go + state thresholds at submission time. Athletes get a real-time warning + auto-routed disclosure when they trip the threshold.
