What is the NCAA's role in NIL?
The NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association) governs college sports in Divisions I, II and III; it has allowed NIL activity since July 1, 2021, and since the House settlement the College Sports Commission enforces the Division I rules on revenue sharing, third-party NIL and roster limits.

The NCAA still enforces its other rules, such as academic eligibility and sports betting. All three divisions adopted the interim NIL policy on June 30, 2021. NIL Go reporting is a Division I rule.
