NIL rules by state
Wisconsin NIL rules for college and high school athletes
Wisconsin college athletes can earn NIL money under NCAA and College Sports Commission rules and their school's policy, because Wisconsin has no state college NIL law. Wisconsin high school athletes have been allowed to earn NIL money since May 20, 2025, after WIAA member schools approved a constitutional amendment 293 to 108, as long as they are not associated or identified with their school team, school, conference or the WIAA.
We could not read the WIAA's adopted text; this page relies on legal and news summaries.

Wisconsin college NIL: no state law
We found no Wisconsin statute on college NIL. Since the NCAA's interim policy took effect on July 1, 2021, athletes at schools in states without an NIL law may take part in NIL activity without breaking NCAA NIL rules, and each school sets its own NIL policy.
Division I athletes also report third-party deals of $600 or more to NIL Go within five business days.
